Legal Disclaimer — Scraper-ito

1. Nature of this Project

Scraper-ito is a private research and development prototype. It is not a commercial product or public service. Access is restricted and provided strictly for testing and research purposes by invited users.

2. Data We Store

We are committed to collecting the absolute minimum data necessary to operate the tool. The following is the complete list of data stored:

Username & Password Hash: Your chosen username and a bcrypt-hashed version of your password are stored in a local file. We never store your plain-text password.
Last Seen Timestamp: An approximate timestamp of your last activity, used only for the admin panel's "online users" view.
Scraped Content: Files generated by scraping missions (Markdown, TXT, PDF) belong to your account and are stored on the server. We do not read or process the content of these files.

We do not collect: email addresses, real names, IP addresses, behavioral analytics, or any biometric data.

3. Cookies

This application uses a single, strictly necessary session cookie (connect.sid) to maintain your login state during a browser session. This cookie:

Is httpOnly — inaccessible to browser JavaScript.
Expires in 24 hours.
Contains no personal information — only an anonymous session identifier.
Is not used for tracking or advertising.

We do not use third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics).

4. Scraping Responsibility

This tool fetches publicly accessible web content on behalf of the user. The user is solely responsible for ensuring that the websites they choose to scrape permit automated access under their Terms of Service. The operators of Scraper-ito accept no liability for misuse of this tool.

5. No Warranties

This software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It is a prototype under active development. Data integrity, uptime, and accuracy are not guaranteed. Do not use it as a critical dependency for production workflows.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Scraped files and your account data are stored until you or an administrator explicitly deletes them. There is no automated retention policy. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact the administrator.
